The 10 year rule at RV campgrounds

I’ve been seeing a lot of new RVers lately asking about the 10 year rule at campgrounds.

Some campgrounds have a rule that your camper or RV cannot be older than 10 years old. And for financial reasons, a lot of people buy older RVs. They are, understandably, worried about being able to find places to camp.

So… how big of a deal is the 10 year rule?

I’ve logged 12k miles in my RV and only seen the 10 year rule at one campground, and they had an “or in good condition” second clause.

If you have an older but well maintained rig, you can usually send pictures and get approved to stay anyways.

But like I said, I almost never see this is a policy unless you’re staying at a snooty “resort” type campground (which I definitely have and then can be fun too, no judgement).
